– There is a drastic climate difference from the coast and in through the mountains. On the Coast during the summer is very dry and hot. During the winter on the coast the temperature is warm and rainy. In the mountains and high areas, summer is hot, sunny and dry. In the winter and spring, the mountains and high areas are usually cold and snowy. In Mt. Ararat, Thunderstorms are very frequent and violent and is mainly due to the steep rise above the terrain and the mountains isolation.
Around our study area, if the sun is not shining the weather is cold. The geographical location of Turkey is situated where climatic conditions are quite temperate. The landscape is has a diverse nature, and the mountains run parallel to the coast therefore creating a climatic differences from one region to the other. The coastal areas have a milder type of climate while the inland Anatolian plateau experiences less rainfall with extreme hot summers and cold winters.
